Filmmaker and music composer Palash Muchhal has come under heavy social-media scrutiny after alleged screenshots of a private chat between him and a woman surfaced online. The controversy erupted only days after the announcement that his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana had been postponed.

According to posts circulating on Reddit and Instagram, an unidentified woman claimed she had been in contact with Palash for some time. She later shared screenshots of what she alleged were their conversations. These images quickly spread across multiple platforms, sparking wide discussions and debates.

The screenshots began to circulate soon after Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, confirmed that the wedding—originally scheduled for November 23 in Sangli—would no longer take place on the planned date. The event was expected to be a small ceremony attended by close relatives and friends. At the time, the postponement was linked to the reported hospitalisation of Smriti Mandhana’s father. Some unverified social-media claims later suggested that Palash had also been admitted to hospital, adding to the confusion around the situation.

In the alleged screenshots, the woman—identified in some posts as Mary D’Costa—shared images that appear to show Palash commenting on her looks and talking about managing a “long-distance” relationship with the cricketer. The chats also mention casual plans such as going for a spa session, a swim, and even an early-morning visit to Versova beach in Mumbai. Many online users interpreted these exchanges as flirtatious, though the authenticity of the screenshots has not been confirmed.

A report by BollywoodLife also stated that the screenshots circulating online have not been verified, and there is no official confirmation from either Palash or Smriti Mandhana regarding the content.

Even without verification, the material has ignited significant reactions. Social-media users have posted mixed responses—while many criticised Palash for the alleged conversations, others urged caution, pointing out that the family is already dealing with a sensitive situation. They argued that unverified claims should not lead to online harassment or further speculation.

So far, neither Palash Muchhal nor Smriti Mandhana has issued a public statement addressing the controversy. The couple’s wedding plans also remain undisclosed, with no new date announced. The situation continues to draw attention online as users debate the authenticity of the screenshots and the circumstances surrounding the postponed ceremony.
