Bomb threat at Taj Palace Delhi

Panic gripped Delhi once again on Saturday when Hotel Taj Palace in Chanakyapuri and two private hospitals, Max Shalimar Bagh and Max Dwarka, received hoax bomb threats through email. A senior Delhi Police officer confirmed that the hotel first received an alarming message at around 2 am.

The email claimed that several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) had been planted across multiple floors of the building. It even went as far as saying that all guests would be “sent to god.” Police teams immediately rushed to the sites, carried out thorough searches, and confirmed that no explosive devices were found.

PM Modi’s birthday to begin with blood donation drive

The Delhi government has announced large-scale celebrations to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. The events will begin with a massive blood donation drive at India Gate and Kartavya Path under the banner “Thank You Modiji.”

In addition to the blood donation, an exhibition showcasing Centre-funded projects in Delhi will be set up. A special “Seva Sankalp Walk” will also take place along Kartavya Path. Later in the evening, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate multiple health-related initiatives at the Thyagraj Stadium.

Viral Mahindra Thar crash survivor speaks out

Maani Pawar, the woman seen in a viral video where a brand-new Mahindra Thar crashed through a glass showroom wall, spoke publicly for the first time. She dismissed the rumours of her death as “completely false and attention-seeking.”

Several misleading posts had circulated on social media claiming that she had died in the accident. Pawar’s clarification brought relief to those concerned, as she confirmed that she was safe and recovering from the incident.

Liquor smuggling on camelback exposed

Delhi Police have busted a gang transporting illegal liquor from Faridabad into South Delhi using camels. According to a report by The Times of India, the smugglers moved only at night, guiding three camels through forested trails instead of main roads. This clever method allowed them to evade checkpoints and police patrols.

The slow pace of camels actually worked in their favour, as they blended seamlessly with the wilderness and went unnoticed. Police are investigating the gang and tightening surveillance in the area.

Amnesty International calls for Umar Khalid’s release

Amnesty International and six other global organisations released a joint statement urging the Indian government to immediately release former JNU student Umar Khalid. The groups argued that Khalid’s prolonged detention highlights a broader issue of shrinking democratic space in India.

They described his imprisonment as part of a larger pattern of targeting individuals who dare to exercise their right to free speech and association. The statement has once again put the spotlight on concerns raised by rights bodies over civil liberties in the country.
