Man found dead after hotel party in Northeast Delhi
A tragic incident was reported from a hotel in northeast Delhi, where a man died after attending a party with his friends. Police confirmed the incident on Sunday, identifying the deceased as Mohit Garg, a resident of Brahmpuri.
According to the family, they suspect foul play, alleging that Mohit may have been drugged and killed during the gathering. However, officials have clarified that the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
Delhi launches first hotline maintenance vehicle
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated Delhi’s first hotline maintenance vehicle on Saturday. The specially designed machine allows electrical repairs to be carried out without disrupting power supply. She also announced that such vehicles will soon be deployed across various parts of the city.
Alongside this, the Chief Minister revealed that nearly 44,000 conventional streetlights will be replaced with energy-efficient LEDs before Diwali. Additionally, plans have been made for the construction of a new Chhath Ghat along the Munak canal.
Gurgaon begins post-monsoon road repairs
With the monsoon season nearing its end, Gurgaon authorities have initiated large-scale repair and strengthening of rain-damaged roads. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, during a review meeting chaired virtually by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, assured that all roads affected by heavy rainfall will be repaired by October-end.
Noida receives light rainfall
After a brief pause in rainfall, parts of Noida witnessed light showers on Sunday morning, while Delhi experienced cloudy skies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms later in the day. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 40 kmph in the Noida region.
Car falls off flyover, disrupts rail traffic
A major scare occurred on Sunday when a car fell from the Mukarba Chowk flyover onto the railway tracks near Haiderpur Metro Station. The incident caused a temporary disruption of rail traffic for nearly an hour. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, though officials said the accident led to panic among commuters in the area.
