The latest weekend episode of Bigg Boss 19 on Saturday turned out to be a fiery affair, with Salman Khan stepping in to deliver some much-needed reality checks to the housemates. Known for his candid approach as the host, Salman did not mince words as he addressed the conflicts inside the house. What made this episode stand out, however, was not just his scolding of contestants, but also a sharp global reference that immediately caught viewers’ attention and triggered discussions across social media.

What went down inside the house

The high point of the evening came when Salman, while commenting on the overall chaos, said, “Ye kya ho raha hai poori duniya mein. Jo sabse zyada trouble phaila rahe hain, unhi ko peace prize chahiye.” Many viewers interpreted this as a subtle jab at US President Donald Trump, and the statement quickly began trending online.

He was referring to the verbal spat that took place between contestants Neelam Giri and and Farhana Bhatt, who hurled harsh insults at Neelam. She referred to her as a “2 kaudi ki aurat” and “Kunickaa ki chamchi”, which left Neelam visibly shaken and in tears.

Salman chose to address Farhana directly. Taking her to task, he pointed out the glaring contradiction between her public image as a self-proclaimed “peace activist” and her choice of demeaning language. In a stern tone, he questioned her: “Farhana, kisi angle se peace activist lagti hain? Aapka ego itna bada hai. Apne aap ko pata nahi kya samajhti hain. Neelam kyu deserve karti hain ‘2 kaudi ki’ kehlana? You are a woman. And you are saying these things about a woman?”

Through his remarks, Salman made it clear that respect and dignity cannot be compromised in the name of heated arguments. He reminded contestants that if they claim to stand for certain values, their words and actions must reflect those very ideals.

The larger context

Interestingly, Salman’s peace prize quip resonated far beyond the show’s set. His words appeared to echo ongoing global chatter about Donald Trump’s reported attempts to secure a Nobel Peace Prize. According to a New York Times report, Trump had even reached out to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year, seeking support for his nomination in connection with India-Pakistan ceasefire talks. PM Modi, however, reportedly declined, clarifying that the ceasefire was a mutual agreement between the two nations, not a result of Trump’s interventions.
